We were excited to win the most outstanding school in 2025 at the inaugural Tennis NSW Awards night (a great outcome for public education).

It was wonderful for P&C members Tiffany and Liam Skinner to represent our school at the evening where they mingled with the Tennis elite.

Forbes Public School was nominated because not only is Tennis inclusive at our school, but it is embedded as a way of meeting PDHPE outcomes engaging all 350 students from both mainstream and special education settings.

Forbes Public enables school level enrichment offerings by engaging high quality coaching, and resourcing this through the Sporting Schools program and the school sports skills program.

Tennis at Forbes Public school supports the building of community partnerships, fostering skill and development, confidence and pathways to club tennis. Our students excel in Todd Woodbridge Tennis cup and PSSA knockouts reflecting the school's strong culture of participation, equity and achievement.

Proud Recipients of the 2023 Secretary’s Award for School Achievement.

On Tuesday evening, several staff members representing Forbes Public School travelled to Town Hall in Sydney to receive the Secretary’s Award for School Achievement. The Hon. Prue Car was in attendance along with the Secretary of the NSW Department of Education Murat Dizdar. While all staff could not attend the event in Sydney, they watched a live stream of the presentation and enjoyed a meal together, celebrating the award in Forbes.

We were thrilled to receive such a prestigious award and are very proud to be the staff of Forbes Public School. We would also like to thank our School Community for their continued support of the learning, programs and opportunities created at Forbes Public School

FPS recently had the exciting opportunity to participate in the Compass Music Festival for the very first time. This marked a significant milestone for the school’s music program, showcasing the talents of our students on a vibrant community stage. The festival provided a fantastic platform for young musicians to perform alongside other schools, fostering a spirit of collaboration and artistic growth.

Our students thoroughly enjoyed the experience, gaining confidence and inspiration to continue their musical journeys. The school community is proud of this achievement and looks forward to being a regular part of the Compass Music Festival in the years to come.
