Find out about our location and transport details to make getting to school safe and easy.
Our school is located at:
Lachlan Street
Forbes NSW 2871
Travel by bicycle
Bike and scooter riders are expected to have knowledge of the rules of the road and to wear a helmet at all times. Bikes and scooters are not to be ridden in the school grounds. They are to be walked within the playground and parked in the correct area. Entrance and exit for bikes and scooters is via Lachlan Street. Students in Infants are not encouraged to ride bikes or scooters to school.
Bus shelter
Students who travel to school by bus, enter or leave the school grounds by the Browne Street bus shelters. Browne Street exits are only for students who catch buses. All other students leave by Lachlan Street.
Bus travel to and from school
Children who travel to school by bus do so on buses owned and operated by private operators. The contract to provide travel is between the operator and the child's parents or caregivers.
Bus operators have a common code of conduct for students travelling to and from school and have the right to terminate student's bus travel if behaviour is not appropriate.
The school has no responsibility or role in relation to travel to and from school. All queries should be addressed to the bus operator.
Car park
It is requested that parents do not use the staff car park in Browne street to drop off or collect students. The staff car park in Browne street is an "out of bounds" area to all students. Please park correctly in the street in the designated areas or a traffic infringement notice could result.
Entering and exiting the school
Students entering or exiting the school must do so through the correct gateways. All students (with the exception of bus children) are to enter and exit the school via the double gates in Lachlan Street.
All gates other than the gates in Lachlan Street are locked at 9.00am.
All visitors to our school are requested to enter via the Lachlan Street gates and receive a visitor’s pass. Parents collecting children are encouraged to use the pedestrian crossings when it is necessary to cross the road.
Getting to and from school safely
As a parent or carer, it’s your responsibility to get your child to and from school safely. Student safety is our priority.
Keep our school community safe by:
- driving and parking safely, even if it means parking further away and walking the rest of the way to school
- being a good role model
- never calling your child from across the road
- using the safest place to cross the road.
For parents and carers of younger children
Discuss with your child how to be safe when:
- walking
- in the car
- waiting for, travelling on, and getting off the bus
- riding bikes, scooters and skateboards.
Also talk about and practise:
- safe travel routes
- plans for when unexpected things happen
- what to do in wet weather.
Subsidised school travel
Transport for NSW provides subsidies to assist school students.
- The School Student Transport Scheme provides eligible students with free or subsidised travel on public transport between home and school.
- The School Drive Subsidy may help towards the costs of driving children to school if you live in an area where there is no public transport.
