The school library is the resource centre of the school providing a wide educational stimulation. The library is fully computerised, allowing children to make on-line enquiries and to borrow and return items more efficiently using barcodes. Children can also access extensive amounts of information using cutting edge ICT resources.
Children's access to the school library will be:
- during scheduled library skill lessons;
- using time available for research;
- taking advantage of borrowing times;
- the library is open most lunchtimes.
Library information skills
Librarians aim to promote a love of books and the realisation that books and computers are a source of information. The key skills promoted in libraries are independence in library routines and the development of research skills.
